Awareness, Advocacy & Action

      Women for Progress

      of Mississippi, Inc.

The Women For Progress Cookbook: A Tribute to Womanhood is more than a collection of recipes; it is documentation and celebration of the contributions of people of color to the art of cooking. The cookbook is a historical and cultural work of art.  While food is the primary focus, it is the recollections, historical facts, folktales, and precious memories which give meaning to the book. The recipes, most    contributed by great cooks/chefs, culinary artists, or reprinted from  our old cookbook, are arranged in non-traditional  sections starting in Africa and  culminating in the new day  which takes us from the slave quarters to the White House.
